I am going on a family vacation to Maui in October and this is my fourth trip to Maui. So I am looking for some new things to do there. I have done all the normal tourist things, biking Haleakala, snorkling and scuba diving Molokini, surf lessons, etc. I am looking for something out of the ordinary, especially something active and adventurous. I'm not big on guided tours I would like to something out of the ordinary. Any suggestions will be helpful.

Hello, so this is going to be our third trip to Maui, but we found REALLY good plane ticket prices, so we booked to go. We are going in November, and there are 3 of us. The first time we went we were on a island cruise, and last time we spent two weeks in/near Lahina. We are thinking about staying in another part of the island this time, and we will have a rental car. What is some other good place to stay on the island that we would be able to find a reasonable condo to rent? We want there to be stuff to do, but don't really want to stay in the strip with all the Resorts. It just needs to be near a beach to walk on.

I have already been on VRBO and just want to see if anyone out there has any personal favorites. Looking into not much more than $130ish a night, we are going in November. I'm thinking of transfering to maui. I'm very interested in what maui is all about. I currently live in tahoe, which is pretty isolated. I'm probably gonna be living in Lahaina. is that a descent place to live? also what is there to do in lahaina for 24 year old. Hiking, swimming,drinking,etc? Im also a chef and want to use this as an experience to learn the cuisine of the island. Am I picking a good place?

Either a Jeep or jeep like (suzuki) vehicle or more preferably a little roadster (like a mazda miata). I don't want to be the average cock driving around a mustang convertible or sebring convertible. I don't either see a point to driving a vehicle with an automatic transmission, so I'm in a bit of a predicament. Anyone able to help me out? I found one great place, but it seems they're no longer in business.

So my future hubby and I were playing on taking a taxi or public transportation around the island. We plan on traveling around the local area we are staying at or possible venture to other areas. Should we rent a car instead? Whats cheaper?

I am going to Maui and staying at the Four Seasons Wailea. We will be there over Christmas and into the new year. I have heard rumors that then is the rainy season, is this true? If so will it it rain all day everyday or is it just light rain? Will it ruin my vacation?
